AI assistants (MCP)

Connect WebTwizz to your AI assistant and you can build, change and publish your sites from a conversation. The assistant asks WebTwizz to do the work, and everything is saved in your WebTwizz account, so you can open any site in the editor and carry on.

WebTwizz works with any assistant that can connect to an MCP server. The server URL is:

https://app.webtwizz.com/mcp

  3. Sign in to WebTwizz when VS Code asks.

Other assistants

Any MCP client that can add a remote server over HTTP with sign-in can use WebTwizz. Add the server URL, choose OAuth if it asks how to sign in, then sign in to WebTwizz and approve access.

Once connected, ask your assistant to use WebTwizz, for example "build me a site for my bakery with a menu and opening hours". Your WebTwizz account needs a verified email address before the assistant can build or change anything.

What you can ask for

  • Build a site: describe it, start from a template, or ask the assistant to turn your conversation into a site.
  • Change a site: copy, design, new sections and pages, fixes. The assistant can also look at the site and suggest changes.
  • Publish: WebTwizz asks you to confirm and only publishes when you press Publish. It can also take a site offline, rename it, change its webtwizz.app address, or make a copy.
  • Undo: go back to any saved version of a site.
  • Data: read and change the records in your site's database.
  • Connectors: use accounts you have already connected, like Stripe or Supabase.
  • GitHub: push, pull, and other git work on a site connected to GitHub.
  • Settings: add a site setting. Secret keys are always pasted in WebTwizz, never in the chat.
  • Files: use a photo, logo or document from the conversation on your site, including images the assistant makes.

The WebTwizz card in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, a WebTwizz card in the chat shows the work as it happens and the result when it is done.

  • Full screen opens the preview large, with the chat beside it.
  • Edit lets you click anything in the preview and say what should change, or double-click text and type over it. Typed text is saved straight away.
  • Undo this change under the preview puts the site back to how it was before the latest change, as long as nothing newer has happened since.
  • When WebTwizz needs you, for a question, an OK for a step, or a publish to confirm, a box at the top of the card says so. You can answer there or in the chat.
  • Open in WebTwizz opens the site in the editor.

Using your assistant and the editor together

  • Sites you make from an assistant are regular WebTwizz projects.
  • If a site is open in the editor, changes from the assistant stream into its chat panel and the editor picks them up.
  • Every change is saved as a version in version history.
  • One change runs on a site at a time. If WebTwizz is already working on a site, the assistant says so instead of starting another.
  • When you open a site from ChatGPT, Back to ChatGPT in the editor's menu returns you to the conversation.

Credits and plans

Work from an assistant uses your WebTwizz credits the same way as work in the editor. If you run out, the assistant says so and nothing changes. Free credits top up every day. Paid-plan features, like custom domains, private sites and downloading your code, work from an assistant on those plans.

Privacy

Your assistant only sends WebTwizz what your request needs: what you asked for, the site it is about, and files you choose to use. WebTwizz does not see your conversation history. The privacy policy has the details.

Disconnect

In WebTwizz, open Settings, then Sessions, and disconnect the assistant under Connected apps. Its access stops right away. Removing WebTwizz in the assistant's settings also stops it from using your account.

Troubleshooting

  • The preview takes a while to appear: a site's preview starts when it is needed, which can take up to a minute for a site that has not been opened in a while.
  • The assistant says WebTwizz is busy: a change is already running on that site, or its version history is open in the editor. Wait for the change to finish, or close version history.
  • The assistant says you are out of credits: nothing was changed. Credits top up every day, and pricing explains how credits and plans work.
