WebTwizz Cloud
Every WebTwizz site can have WebTwizz Cloud: its own database, with sign-up, sign-in and password reset for your users, and storage for the files people upload. There's no account to create and nothing to paste. Tables, users and files open in the Data panel, like any other data source, and everything else is in Settings > Cloud.
How a site gets it
- The AI adds it. When you ask for something that saves data or has accounts, like a sign-up form, bookings or a members area, the AI adds WebTwizz Cloud and keeps building. The chat shows Adding a database, then Added a database.
- You add it. In the Data panel, open the Data source tab, choose WebTwizz Cloud and click Add database.
Your account's email needs to be verified first. If the site already uses Supabase or your own database, the AI never adds WebTwizz Cloud on its own.
Settings > Cloud
Open Settings in the builder and click Cloud. It has six pages:
- Overview: each part's main switch, one click from its page: save new data, let new users sign up, take new uploads, and email me if the site goes down. A row says Paused, Full or Storage full when it needs you.
- Database: its name, Pause saving, Restore data and Download everything.
- Users: who can sign up, and the emails they get. See Sign-ins.
- Files: uploads, the largest upload, and who can open the buckets you made. See Files.
- Jobs: tasks that run on a schedule. See Jobs.
- Logs: errors from your live site, and when to email you. See Logs.
Changes wait for Save changes in the bar at the bottom. Discard drops them.
If your published sites go offline because your credits ran out, or they used all the hosting your plan includes this month, Overview says so, with Add credits or Upgrade.
Usage only shows when you're close to a limit, at 80% or more. Upgrade appears next to it when a bigger plan raises that limit.
If the site's data is in Supabase or your own database, the Database, Users and Files pages offer Switch to WebTwizz Cloud instead. Jobs and Logs work for every published site.
Database
- Name: shown in the Data panel.
- Pause saving: visitors still see everything, but nothing new is saved.
- Restore data: puts your data back the way it was at an earlier moment. See Restore data.
- Free up space: shows when the database is full or nearly full. Deleted rows keep their space until the tables are packed, so delete what you no longer need, then click Free up space. Pages may pause for a moment, and saving comes back within a few minutes once there's room.
- Download everything: your data, users and files in one zip. You can leave out uploaded files. If they add up to more than 5 GB, they're left out, so download them from Files instead. If it takes a while, close the window and we email you the link.
Plans and limits
| Plan | Databases | Data, all databases together | Uploaded files | Largest file | Sign-in emails a day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (free) | 2 | 500 MB | 1 GB | 25 MB | 100 |
| Standard | 10 | 5 GB | 10 GB | 500 MB | 1,000 |
| Pro | 30 | 20 GB | 50 GB | 500 MB | 5,000 |
Only databases your sites use count toward the limit.
Each plan includes a monthly amount of database use, enough for most sites:
- Starter: a database that uses all of the month's free use pauses until the 1st. Pages that show or save data say they're unavailable until then.
- Standard and Pro: past the included use, your databases use credits, so your sites keep running. If those run out, they pause until you add more.
- When your databases are full, new data can't be saved, but your sites still show what's there. Delete rows you no longer need in the Data panel, then click Free up space in Settings > Cloud > Database, or upgrade. On Pro, contact support@webtwizz.com for more room.
- When your file storage is full, new uploads stop working, but every file already uploaded keeps showing. Once there's room again, publish your site so uploads work there too.
- When you have more databases than your plan includes, for example after a downgrade, they all keep working for 30 days. Then the extra ones pause, with their data kept, until you upgrade. That day you get an email naming them. Choose which ones stay with Pick which stay in Settings > Usage.
Pause dates, like "paused until November 1", are the day the pause ends in UTC. You get an email when you reach 80%, and when a database pauses or fills up. Your account's Settings > Usage has a Cloud section with your data, uploaded files, today's sign-in emails and this month's database use. The Data panel shows the open site's data and use.
One database, several sites
A database can serve more than one of your sites, like a public site and an admin dashboard. Both see the same tables and the same users.
- In the Data panel, choose WebTwizz Cloud, pick the database another site uses from the list and click Connect. The list says which sites use each one.
- Duplicating a site keeps it on the same database, so the copy works right away. Saved data shows on both sites.
Switching and deleting
- Switching to another data source keeps the site's data and users for 30 days, so you can switch back. Data and user accounts don't move to the new source.
- Switching back puts the site on the data it had before, as long as your plan has room for one more database.
- A published site keeps working on its old database until you publish it again.
- Deleting a site deletes its database too, with its data, users and files, unless another site uses it. The delete window says so and offers Download everything first.
- Deleting a database removes its data and users for good. On the dashboard, open Connectors, click WebTwizz Cloud, click ⋯ next to the database and choose Delete database, then type its name to confirm.
Restore data
If data gets deleted or changed by mistake, you can put it back the way it was at an earlier moment. Open Settings > Cloud > Database and click Restore, or click ⋯ on the data source tab in the Data panel and choose Restore data.
| Plan | How far back |
|---|---|
| Starter (free) | 1 day |
| Standard | 3 days |
| Pro | 7 days |
- Pick a date and time, or a shortcut like 1 hour ago, then type the database name to confirm.
- Everything saved after that moment is lost, including users who signed up after it. If other sites share the database, they roll back too, and the window says which.
- Your pages and design don't change. Only the data does. Uploaded files aren't rolled back.
- For a day afterwards, Undo restore puts the data back the way it was just before.
Files
When your site lets people upload things, like a profile photo, a CV or a receipt, the AI stores them next to your data. Images and documents you add to pages yourself keep using the builder's usual image tools.
Open Files in the Data panel to see everything stored. Files live in buckets:
- public holds files anyone with the link can open, like photos shown on the site.
- private holds files that open only through short-lived links your site makes for the people allowed to see them, like receipts or CVs.
- New bucket makes another one, and you choose who can open its files. A database can have up to 10 buckets, and the AI knows about the ones you make. The public and private buckets can't be changed or deleted, because your site's code uses them.
Inside a bucket:
- Click a folder to open it, and use the path at the top to go back. New folder makes one.
- Click Upload and choose File or Folder, or drag files and folders onto the list. Drop them on a folder to move them there. A file with the same name as one already there gets a number added, so nothing is replaced.
- Click a file to preview it, with its size, type, folder, who can open it and when it was uploaded. Images, PDFs, video and sound play right there. Use the arrow keys to move between files.
- Click ⋯ on a file, or right-click it, for Download, Copy link, Rename, Move to..., Make it public... or Make it private, and Delete.
- Copy link on a private file makes a link that works for 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days. On a public file it copies the file's link.
- Make it public... moves a file from the private bucket to the public one, in the same folder. Make it private moves it back.
- Renaming or moving a file changes its link, so pages that show it need updating.
- Select files or folders to move or delete several at once. Deleting a folder deletes everything in it. Deleted files can't be brought back, even by restoring data.
Bucket settings shows a bucket's size and who can open its files. For a bucket you made, you can change that or delete the bucket.
In Settings > Cloud > Files:
- Allow uploads: turn it off to stop new uploads, on your site and in the Data panel.
- Largest upload: in MB, up to your plan's largest file.
- Buckets: the buckets you made, each Public or Private. New bucket makes one, and Browse files opens Files in the Data panel.
Your live site keeps the upload settings from its last publish. When they've changed since, like uploads turned back on, a new largest upload or a new plan, the page shows a notice with Publish.
Uploaded files count toward the Uploaded files limit above, shown in Settings > Usage. When storage is full, uploads stop until you delete files, and deleting makes room right away.
Sign-ins
Users sign up with an email and password, and can reset a forgotten password. They appear under Users in the Data panel, where you can send a password reset, block someone and sign them out, delete them along with their rows, or export the list.
In Settings > Cloud > Users:
- Allow new sign-ups: turn it off to stop new accounts.
- Confirm email: new users enter a code from their email before they can sign in. When you turn it on, the AI adds the code step to your sign-up page in a new chat.
- Sent by: WebTwizz sends the sign-in emails, or Your site sends them through its own email service. Choosing Your site asks the AI, in a new chat, to set that up with your email connector. Your site takes over once it's published. Until then WebTwizz sends them.
- Sender name and Logo: emails WebTwizz sends come from your site's name. On paid plans you can set your own sender name and add your logo next to it. On Starter they carry the WebTwizz logo.
- Reply-to: where replies go, on every plan.
- Preview emails shows each email your users can get, like Confirm email, Reset password and Sign-in code.
WebTwizz sends up to 100 sign-in emails a day on Starter, 1,000 on Standard and 5,000 on Pro, across all your sites. Past that, new users and password resets on your sites get no code until midnight UTC. Your site doesn't show them an error, so the Users page says so, and you get one email that day. Emails your site sends itself have no daily limit.
Jobs
Jobs are tasks that run on a schedule, like a daily reminder email or a weekly report. Open Settings > Cloud > Jobs and click New job:
- Give it a name.
- Choose what it does. Describe it, and the AI builds it in a new chat. Or choose Use something the site already has and pick an existing job.
- Choose when: every 5 or 15 minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, or a custom schedule. Daily and weekly jobs run at the time you pick, in your time zone, and keep that time when the clocks change. A custom schedule is written in cron, in UTC.
Each job shows its schedule and when it last ran, and whether that failed. The switch turns it on or off. Click ⋯ for:
- Run now: runs it once on the preview and shows its answer. The site needs to be open in the builder. Once the site is published, Run now (live site) runs it there.
- Change schedule.
- Remove. Jobs set up in your site's code don't have it.
Jobs only run on your published site, and it keeps the schedules from its last publish. When they've changed since, the page shows a notice with Publish. Until the site is published, it says Jobs start once your site is published.
| Plan | Jobs per site | Most often |
|---|---|---|
| Starter (free) | 2 | Once a day |
| Standard | 10 | Once an hour |
| Pro | 40 | Every 5 minutes |
A job past your plan's count shows Over your plan and doesn't run. A schedule faster than your plan allows runs as often as the plan allows, and the job shows how often that is.
Logs
Settings > Cloud > Logs shows errors, failed requests and messages from your live site's server code. It doesn't log every page view.
- Common errors groups the same error from the last 24 hours, with how often it happened and on which page. Ask the AI to fix opens a new chat with the error.
- Recent lists the latest lines. Search them, or show only Errors or Warnings. Show older loads more.
- Times are in your time zone.
Alerts email you when something goes wrong:
- Site goes down: your live site stops loading.
- Errors spike: errors suddenly jump.
- Send alerts to: leave it empty to use your account email.
- Keep logs for: 1, 7 or 30 days, up to your plan.
| Plan | Keep logs for |
|---|---|
| Starter (free) | 1 day |
| Standard | 7 days |
| Pro | 30 days |
Ask about your data
Click Query above your table in the Data panel. Type a question, like "how many users signed up this week", and the AI writes the query and shows the answer. If you know SQL, write your own query and click Run. See Query your data.
The AI can also read your live site while it works: its analytics, its errors, your jobs and their last runs, and what's in file storage. It can run a job once on the preview to test it. It gives times in your time zone.
FAQ
Where is my data stored? In the United States.
Can I get my data out? Yes. Download everything in Settings > Cloud > Database gives you one zip with your tables, users and files. Files over 5 GB in total are left out, so download those from Files. You can also click Export above any table in the Data panel to download it as CSV or JSON.
Does it cost extra? No. It's included in every plan, within the limits above. On paid plans, database use past the included amount uses credits.
